God bless you Trev.Trevor Woollard : 13th May 1944 - 5th March 2005
To all who remembered Trevor (Trev the Polish)Perhaps you sent a lovely card, Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say, Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you, so very much whatever the part.
Kathy and family
In the early 1990's in Poole Dorset a sole trader and inventor Trevor Woollard and his wife Kath decided that all the polishes that they used on their vehicles caused problems with smearing or just made hard work of the simplest of jobs.
Now Trevor who had a past history working with chemicals couldn't wait to prove a better product could be made.
So to task they went mixing chemical after chemical, trial after trial until they had perfected a product that met the standards that they believed worked for them.
Once this product had been tested on all sorts of materials and had been used for personal use for some time and producing three separate products, it was decided that a market stall would be a good idea to make a little cash from sales to local people in the Poole area and Auto Proud was born.
For nearly two years they produced the Auto Proud products and sold them on the market stall getting very good responses and repeat business.
Then one day a motorcyclist who had used a few bottles of the Auto Proud products asked if Trevor & Kath would be interested in attending a local meeting as a trader selling the Auto Proud polishes. This was at a local Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain meeting and a terrific response created sales to members from all over the UK.
This started the ball rolling other Goldwing meetings were attended then auto clubs including the American car owners, Classic Car Owners to name a few. Now Trevor was really getting to grips and started selling to garages, valets, body repair shops etc.
Before long the market stall had to go, no time to run it any more what with manufacturing Auto Proud and other products that had been developed (for a totally different market) to busy travelling around the south end of the country to shows.
Interest started to come from other area's including aboard as far away as Australia, China, and New Zealand.
